The Open University Business School North West Alumni Group held a seminar presented by Dr Anthony Greenfield on how to take a positive approach to leading successful change on 13th September 2010 at the Open University’s Regional Office in Manchester.

Dr Anthony Greenfield led an interesting and inspiring seminar on how to lead successful change and how it affects people. He worked through the 5 Forces of Change which are: Certainty, Purpose, Control, Connection and Success.

Dr Anthony Greenfield turned the usual negative aspects of leading change on its head by demonstrating that it is better not to try to overcome resistance to change but to harmonise change with human nature. He showed the importance that people remain need to remain certain, purposeful, in control, connected and successful during periods of change. As a result employees will work positively with change rather than suffering through it.

A good debate followed the formal presentation on how to lead successful change and Dr Anthony Greenfield answered a wide range of questions from the audience and several points were debated and experiences shared.

The seminar was sold out and despite the poor weather was well attended on the night with professionals and senior managers from all types of organisations and sectors all looking to get great tips on how to lead successful change.

All came away with new insights and tools onto how to lead change more effectively within their organisations.

The Open University Business School NW Alumni Group would like to thank Dr Anthony Greenfield on taking the time to present the seminar and we are looking forward to seeing everybody again on the 15th November for the next presentation by Peter Kennedy.
